Maureen G. Fatcheric
Ms. Fatcheric joined Costello, Cooney & Fearon, PLLC in 1988 and is a partner in the firm. She Practices as a trial attorney in the areas of personal injury, insurance coverage and business litigation. She is the Chairperson of the firm's Litigation Department.
Ms. Fatcheric represents and defends insureds in personal injury actions involving a variety of issues which include products liability, premises/security liability, auto and construction law. Besides acting in the defense of insureds, she also counsels and represents insurers in various declaratory judgment actions and insurance coverage disputes.
Defending municipalities and other public entities is another aspect of Ms. Fatcheric's practice. This includes actions involving governmental immunity, board decisions and actions, liability of volunteers and employment related decisions.
Ms. Fatcheric is a frequent speaker on tort topics for the New York State Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education series. Such topics have included Commercial Lines Insurance- Advanced issues; Updates on Premises Liability Law; Construction Site Litigation; and Proving and Defending Damages.
In 1985, Ms. Fatcheric graduated from SUNY Albany with honors and received her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University in 1988. She is admitted to practice before all New York State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of New York. In 2012, Ms. Fatcheric was also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Fatcheric is a member of the Onondaga County, New York State and American Bar Associations. With client nominations, Ms. Fatcheric was selected a member of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), which works to advance the highest professional standards of commitment and integrity within the Legal profession. She has earned the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award based upon client reviews. Also, she was selected by her peers, and named in the editions of Upstate New York Super Lawyers in the years 2009 through 2017.
In her community, Ms. Fatcheric participates in a wide variety of community and charitable activities, including Cornell Cooperative Extension where she served as an officer and board member.
