Melinda Burdick Bowe & Christopher Militello Present at 41st Annual MASLA Conference

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

Firm partner Melinda Burdick Bowe and associate Christopher Militello presented at the 41st annual New York State MASLA (Management Advocates for School Labor Affairs) conference held on July 17, 2018, in Saratoga Springs, NY. MASLA is dedicated to supporting public sector management negotiators and HR resource professionals in NYS and holds an annual summer conference on a wide range of topics of interest to attendees.

This year, Costello, Cooney & Fearon sponsored the conference, and firm attorneys presented on the topic of off-duty conduct of school employees and how/when it affects their work environment. While the topic can be confusing in light of things like medical marijuana legalization, Ms. Bowe and Mr. Militello spoke to provide some helpful clarification and guidelines.

Visit the MASLA site for more information on the event, and contact our education law practice group for any additional guidance for your organization.
